Sharing your phone screen

Stream everything on your phone screen to every destination at once. Useful for app demos, mobile gameplay and walkthroughs.

Screen sharing is app only — a browser cannot capture the whole device.

Starting a screen share

1. Create a channel with the Phone screen input, or open one you already have.

2. Press Go Live.

3. Accept the system prompt:

   • Android — Start recording or casting with Rexstream? → Start now
   • iPhone — the broadcast picker opens → choose Rexstream → Start Broadcast

4. Leave the app. Everything on screen is now being streamed.

Before you start

Everything on screen is streamed

That includes notification banners, incoming calls and anything on your lock screen. Turn on Do Not Disturb before going live.

A few things worth knowing:

Audio	Your microphone. App sounds are not captured.
Stopping	Stop from the app, or from the recording indicator in the phone's status bar — either ends the stream.
Watermark	Free plan screen shares carry the Rexstream watermark. See watermarks.

Why it looks small on YouTube

YouTube, Twitch and Facebook expect a landscape (16:9) picture. A phone held upright is portrait, so it sits in the middle of the frame with black bars down each side.

Two ways to fill the frame:

1. Rotate the phone to landscape while sharing.
2. Add a portrait destination. In the channel's Platforms tab, set the destination's orientation to Portrait (9:16) for platforms that expect vertical video, such as Instagram Live or TikTok.
