Landscape and portrait

Match each destination to the shape its platform expects.

Landscape (16:9) is the normal format for YouTube, Twitch and Facebook. Portrait (9:16) is for vertical platforms such as Instagram Live, TikTok and Stories: the video is cropped to the centre of a landscape source (a portrait phone camera fits perfectly). You can mix both on one channel; the server then encodes two versions.

Phone screen shares

YouTube, Twitch and Facebook show a landscape (16:9) picture. A phone held upright is portrait, so it sits in the middle of the frame with black bars at the sides. To fill the frame, either rotate the phone to landscape while sharing, or add a Portrait (9:16) destination in the channel's Platforms tab for platforms such as Instagram Live or TikTok.
